UNIVERSITY TRANSFER PROGRAM (UTP) STAGE I
An eight-month, pre-university foundation program designed as a bridge between secondary school and university-level study.
UNIVERSITY TRANSFER PROGRAM (UTP) STAGE II
A first-year university program designed to support your transition to study in Canada. Following successful completion of the UTP II, you will progress to second-year studies at Wilfrid Laurier University.
We are very excited to welcome you to the Wilfrid Laurier International College, Laurier, and Brantford community.
At WLIC support is always close by, with qualified staff and student peer mentors available, both online and in person. Our advising and wellness teams guide students with everything from course planning and choosing a major, to making friends and self-care. We are dedicated to helping you achieve success in academics and in life.
WLIC is located on Laurier’s Brantford campus. University buildings are interwoven into the downtown core, so you’re close to classes, residence and amenities. Brantford’s world-class trails, local history, and cultural celebrations means there’s always something to see and do.
Depending on your goals for University, students will need to complete 8 courses and achieve 65% or higher to progress to UTP Stage II.

All direct and integrated entry students are required to take (and pass) ILC101– Introduction to our Learning Community in their first term of study unless exempted. Students who are exempt from ILC101 will be required to take (and pass) ILS101 – Integrated Learning Skills.
Students may be eligible to “Jump” to UTP Stage II if in a single term they successfully complete four UTP Stage I classes (not including ILS/ILC) with a minimum 70% in each course.
