Other Information: San Francisco University High School opened in 1975 as a coeducational, college preparatory, independent secondary school. Enrollment stands at approximately 390 students this year. The school is located in a residential neighborhood in the northern section of the city. Accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, UHS is also a member of the National Association of Independent Schools, the California Association of Independent Schools, the College Entrance Examination Board, and the Secondary School Admissions Test Board. San Francisco University High School seeks to provide each student with a broad background in the liberal arts. The curriculum represents a combination of required courses thought to be fundamental to a liberal education, a rich selection of elective courses aimed at meeting the needs and interests of a diverse student body, and a variety of opportunities to pursue independent programs of study. UHS enrolls approximately 389 students who represent 73 different schools. 77% of our students are from San Francisco, 17% are from the North Bay, and 6% are from the East and South Bays. 40% of UHS students self-identify as students of color (including 50% of our ninth grade class).
